LakePoint Station: A Rainy-Day, Hot-Day, “The Kids Are Losing Their Minds” Bartow County Option

LakePoint Station near Emerson, Georgia, a family entertainment destination with bowling, arcade games, laser tag, climbing and mini golf.
LakePoint Station offers indoor and outdoor family entertainment near Emerson and LakePoint Sports in Bartow County.

We’ve covered museums.

We’ve covered local history.

We’ve covered parks.

We’ve even voluntarily climbed a mountain. 😂

So for the last stop in this batch, I wanted something completely different:

What do we do when the kids need entertainment and Georgia weather has decided it will NOT be cooperating?

Enter LakePoint Station.

Located near Emerson and the LakePoint Sports complex, LakePoint Station is a family entertainment center with bowling, an arcade, laser tag, climbing, mini golf, gem mining and more.

Basically, it’s the kind of place where you walk in and tell the kids:

“Pick something.”

And immediately regret using the singular form of something. 😂

There Is a LOT Going On in Here

This isn’t just an arcade with a few other things tacked onto it.

LakePoint Station currently offers:

Bowling
40+ arcade games
Rollerball — a smaller-scale version of bowling
Gem mining
Clip ‘N Climb
Mini golf
Blacklight mini golf
Two-story laser tag

And the Clip ‘N Climb area reaches 28 feet high.

Which means there are activities for the little kids…

activities for the bigger kids…

and activities where Grandma can stand on the ground and say:

“Absolutely not.”

😂

The Mini Golf Has a Bartow County Connection

This is one of my favorite details.

LakePoint Station didn’t just create a generic pirate or jungle-themed mini-golf course.

Its outdoor Railroad & Mining course incorporates the area’s mining and railroad history, while the indoor Miner’s Mountain course takes you into a blacklight setting.

The attraction even incorporates historical information about Emerson’s connection to mining, railroads, the nearby Allatoona Pass Battlefield and the Great Locomotive Chase.

See?

I can apparently turn mini golf into Bartow County history.

This Around Bartow thing is getting out of hand. 😂

Rainy Day? This One Goes on the List.

This may be where LakePoint Station earns its keep for local families.

A lot of the entertainment is indoors.

So when it’s raining…

or freezing…

or approximately 4,000 degrees because Georgia has entered Swamp Ass Summer…

you still have options.

Bowling.

Arcade.

Laser tag.

Climbing.

Indoor blacklight mini golf.

That’s especially useful when you’ve promised the kids you’re doing something fun and then wake up to a weather forecast that has other plans.

And Then Somebody Discovers Gem Mining

Because apparently Bartow County children are going to become geologists whether they like it or not. 😂

After Tellus gave us gem panning, LakePoint Station gives us another opportunity to go treasure hunting.

Their outdoor gem-mining flume lets kids sift material for gemstones and fossils, and LakePoint says the bags are designed so nobody walks away without finding something.

Translation:

You probably aren’t going home with an empty-handed five-year-old demanding to speak to management.

That’s good planning. 😂

Bowling Gives Us Another Age Group

This is also why I think LakePoint Station works beyond families with really young kids.

The bowling facility gives teenagers, adults and mixed-age families something everybody can do together, while Rollerball uses smaller balls and doesn’t require special bowling shoes.

And then there’s laser tag.

Nothing brings a family together quite like discovering Grandma has been harboring a competitive streak for 40 years and is now hunting everybody through a two-story laser-tag arena.

Family memories. ❤️😂

You Can Eat There Too

This matters.

Because if you keep children entertained long enough, eventually somebody is going to announce that they are STARVING despite having eaten approximately 37 minutes ago.

LakePoint Station currently has St. Angelo’s Pizza for food and Station Sweets for dessert.

So you don’t necessarily have to leave the property in the middle of your visit to solve the inevitable food emergency.

Parents: Birthday Parties Are an Option Too

LakePoint Station also offers organized birthday-party packages that can combine attractions, arcade play, pizza, drinks and party-room time depending on the package selected.

And I can see the appeal.

Because sometimes you want to lovingly create your child’s birthday experience from scratch.

And sometimes you want to arrive somewhere and say:

“Here. You people handle this.”

Both are valid parenting strategies. 😂

Another One for the “What Are We Doing Today?” List

This entire batch has really driven home how different our options are around here.

You can look at dinosaurs at Tellus.

See nationally recognized Western art at the Booth.

Sit inside nearly a century of Cartersville history at 4 Way Lunch.

Spend an afternoon at Dellinger Park.

Hike Pine Mountain.

Or spend a rainy Saturday bowling and playing laser tag.

Those are six very different things to do in Bartow County without needing to turn every family outing into a trip toward Atlanta.

A Front Porch Rachel Thought

This is really what I wanted from Around Bartow.

Not just:

Here are some restaurants.

I want somebody to land on Front Porch Rachel and eventually think:

What are we doing with the kids Saturday?

Check Rachel’s site.

Where can we hike?

Check Rachel’s site.

What’s happening this weekend?

Check Rachel’s site.

We’re thinking about moving to Bartow County. What’s it actually like to live there?

Well…

Now you’re REALLY in my wheelhouse. 😉

Because a community isn’t just houses.

It’s where you spend Saturday afternoons, where your kids have birthday parties, where you take your grandkids and where your family’s everyday memories happen.

And that’s the Bartow County I want to show you.
