What’s Happening in Bartow County This Weekend: September 11–13

Downtown Cartersville streetscape representing weekend events, local businesses and things to do in Bartow County, Georgia.
Looking for something to do this weekend? Bartow County has plenty of ways to get out, explore and support local.

Labor Day may be behind us after Monday, but apparently Bartow County has decided we’re not going home yet. 😂

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, September 11–13, we’ve got a pretty good mix.

Food trucks and live music?

Yep.

Hundreds of cars?

Yep.

Something for the history people?

Got you.

A mother/son camping adventure?

Also happening.

And because this weekend marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, there’s also an important local event honoring the lives lost and the first responders who served that day.

So let’s see what’s happening around Bartow County this weekend.

🇺🇸 9/11 Run to Remember 5K — Downtown Cartersville

📅 Saturday, September 12
⏰ 5K starts at 8:00 AM
📍 Downtown Cartersville

This one deserves to come first.

Saturday’s 9/11 Run to Remember 5K marks the 25th anniversary of September 11 and brings the community together to honor and remember those who lost their lives and the first responders who answered the call.

Race-day registration opens at 6:45 AM, followed by the presentation of colors and National Anthem at 7:50. The 5K begins at 8:00, and guest dignitaries are scheduled to speak in remembrance of 9/11 at 9:11 AM. The route even takes runners through Cartersville Fire Station #1, where first responders will be there cheering them on.

Even if running voluntarily before breakfast isn’t your idea of a good Saturday…

I understand. 😂

This is still a meaningful opportunity to come downtown and support the participants and first responders.

🌮 Food Truck Friday — Euharlee

📅 Friday, September 11
⏰ 6:30–9:30 PM
📍 Osborne Park Amphitheater, 111 Covered Bridge Road, Euharlee
💰 Free admission

Friday night plans solved.

Euharlee’s Food Truck Friday returns to Osborne Park Amphitheater with food trucks, live music and a community night under the stars.

The event runs from 6:30–9:30 PM, and admission is free. Organizers recommend bringing your lawn chairs, your appetite and your people.

And considering we literally just talked about exploring more of Euharlee…

Look at us following through. 😂

Grab dinner from one of the food trucks, listen to some music and enjoy a Friday night outside without having to drive toward Atlanta.

That’s a win.

🚘 The Connection Car Show 2026 — Savoy Automobile Museum

📅 Saturday, September 12
⏰ 9:00 AM–3:30 PM
📍 Savoy Automobile Museum, 3 Savoy Lane, Cartersville

Car people, this one is yours.

The Connection Car Show returns Saturday to the showgrounds at Savoy Automobile Museum, and this isn’t exactly three classic cars sitting in a parking lot.

The event has space for 350 show cars representing different makes, models and eras.

It’s also Savoy’s largest annual fundraiser, supporting the museum’s permanent collection, exhibitions and educational programs.

So whether you’re the person who can identify a car from the sound of the engine…

or the person who says,

“Oooooh. I like the red one.”

😂

You’re welcome.

🪦 Headstone Preservation Workshop — Bartow History Museum & Emerson

📅 Saturday, September 12
⏰ 8:00–11:30 AM
📍 Begins at Bartow History Museum, Cartersville
💰 $30 per person; advance registration encouraged

Okay, history people.

This one is actually fascinating.

The Bartow History Museum is hosting a hands-on Historic Cemetery Preservation Workshop led by preservationist Paige Jennings.

Participants will first learn about historic cemeteries, monument deterioration and appropriate preservation techniques at the museum. Then the group will travel to Puckett Cemetery in Emerson for an actual demonstration and hands-on instruction in cleaning and maintaining historic headstones.

The $30 admission includes the necessary cleaning materials, and space is limited.

This is definitely one of those:

“I didn’t know people could learn how to do that.”

activities.

But considering how much local history is sitting in Bartow County’s cemeteries, I think it’s pretty darn cool.

⛺ Mother/Son Campout — Euharlee

📅 Saturday, September 12–Sunday, September 13
📍 Euharlee Creek Campground, 112-B Covered Bridge Road
👩‍👦 Moms + sons ages 13 and under
💰 $50

And here’s one for the moms.

Euharlee is hosting its Mother/Son Campout Saturday night at Euharlee Creek Campground.

Moms and boys ages 13 and younger are invited to bring their tents, sleeping bags, flashlights and camping gear for an overnight outdoor adventure. The city says the event will include outdoor activities throughout the evening.

This sounds like one of those experiences kids remember forever.

Although somewhere around 2:13 AM when someone needs to use the bathroom, Mom may briefly question every decision that led her there.

😂

Still worth it.

🚗 Bonus for the Serious Car People: The Connection Car Cruise

📅 Friday, September 11
📍 Savoy Automobile Museum

Before Saturday’s big car show, Savoy is also hosting its annual Connection Car Cruise Friday.

Participants will head out on a 98.5-mile drive through northwest Georgia, making this more of an experience for the people who don’t just want to look at their cars—they want to drive them.

If you’ve got a serious car person in your house, you may want to investigate this one.

❤️ A Front Porch Rachel Thought

This is exactly why I wanted What’s Happening in Bartow County to become a regular part of Front Porch Rachel.

Because look at this weekend.

You can honor first responders in downtown Cartersville.

Eat dinner from a food truck and listen to music in Euharlee.

Spend Saturday surrounded by hundreds of cars.

Learn how to preserve pieces of Bartow County history.

Or take your son camping beside Euharlee Creek.

That’s a pretty good reminder that living somewhere isn’t only about the house you buy.

It’s about what happens outside your front door.

And there’s a whole lot happening outside ours this weekend. ❤️

So…

What’s going on YOUR calendar?

And if there’s an event happening around Bartow County this weekend that I missed, drop it in the comments.

I want these weekly guides to become a place where we can all find out what’s happening around our community.
