Sixes Tavern: Good Food and Great Live Music in Cartersville

There are restaurants you go to because you’re hungry.

And then there are places where you go for dinner and somehow realize three hours later…

Apparently we’re staying. 😂

That’s part of the appeal of Sixes Tavern in Cartersville.

Located at 650 Henderson Drive, Sixes combines a big American tavern-style menu with a full bar and entertainment, making it one of those Cartersville spots that can work for dinner with friends, drinks or an actual night out.

And around here, I think places like that deserve some attention.

🍔 First, Let’s Talk About the Food

Sixes isn’t a place I’m writing about because I found it on a list of Cartersville restaurants.

We’ve actually been here several times—and we’ve had consistently good food every time.

That’s a pretty important distinction in my book. 😂

Because one good meal can be luck.

When you go back multiple times and the food keeps delivering? Now you’ve earned a spot in the rotation.

You’ve got wings.

Burgers.

Steaks.

Sandwiches.

Salads.

Fish & chips.

Chicken.

And enough appetizers to make that dangerous little sentence—

“Let’s just get a couple things for the table.”

—turn into an entire meal. 😂

The current appetizer menu includes loaded tater tots, Southwest egg rolls, fried pickles, shrimp and crab dip, loaded mashed potato balls and bacon-wrapped steak fries.

That last one feels particularly disrespectful to anyone pretending they’re ordering a salad.

🍗 This Is Comfort-Food Territory

The entrée menu is where Sixes really leans into the tavern part of the equation.

There’s country fried steak, chicken fried chicken, meatloaf, fish & chips, steaks and the Sixes Bowl—chicken fingers over mashed potatoes with corn gravy, buffalo sauce, sour cream and green onions.

In other words:

This isn’t necessarily where we’re going when somebody announces,

“I just want a little something light.”

😂

Although there are salads and veggie options for the responsible person at the table.

We appreciate you.

🍺 But Sixes Isn’t Just About Dinner

This is where Sixes separates itself from a regular casual restaurant.

Entertainment is part of the experience.

The tavern promotes entertainment alongside its dining experience, and local tourism information specifically describes Sixes as a laid-back spot for bar food, cocktails, draft beer and live music.

That means you can come in for food and stay for music rather than finishing dinner and immediately asking:

“Okay…now what are we doing?”

We already found the what.

😂

🎶 And They Book Some Seriously Good Entertainment

The food is what gets you through the door, but the entertainment is one of the things that makes Sixes stand out.

We’ve been several times, and they consistently book stellar entertainment.

Not “there’s somebody playing in the corner while everyone continues their conversation” entertainment.

The kind that can turn:

“Want to grab something to eat?”

into:

“Well…I guess we’re staying awhile.” 😂

That’s what I like about Sixes. It can be dinner, but it can also be your whole night out.

And when you’re deciding what to do on a Friday or Saturday night without leaving Bartow County, having a local place that brings in genuinely good entertainment matters.

🕐 Lunch Crowd or Friday-Night Crowd?

Here’s something useful to know before you go.

Sixes is open 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m.–midnight Friday and Saturday, according to its current official site.

So your experience can depend quite a bit on when you visit.

Lunch or an earlier dinner?

More casual meal.

Weekend night with entertainment?

You’re getting more of the tavern experience.

If you’re specifically going for live entertainment, I’d check the current schedule before heading out because events can change.

📍 Why Local Places Like Sixes Matter

This is actually one of my favorite parts of talking about real estate.

Stay with me. 😂

When somebody asks what it’s like to live in Cartersville, the answer can’t just be:

Median home price.

Commute.

Bedrooms.

Bathrooms.

Schools.

Those things matter.

But that’s not really what makes somewhere feel like home.

It’s where you go on Friday night.

Where you meet friends for dinner.

Where somebody says:

“Hey, there’s a band playing tonight—want to go?”

It’s the places you eventually stop Googling because you already know where you’re going.

That’s the difference between knowing where a town is…

and actually living there.

❤️ A Front Porch Rachel Thought

Sixes Tavern is exactly the kind of business I want to highlight through Front Porch Rachel because it’s somewhere I can personally tell you we’ve enjoyed.

We’ve eaten there several times. The food has consistently been good. They bring in stellar entertainment. And it gives Cartersville another place where you don’t necessarily have to drive toward Atlanta to have an actual night out.

That’s the stuff you don’t learn by looking at a real estate listing.

You learn it by living here.

And that’s really what these local spotlights are about.

Because real estate tells you where somebody lives.

Local places tell you how they live. ❤️
