Things to Do in Bartow County This Weekend | September 25–27, 2026

Things to do in Bartow County Georgia this weekend September 25-27 2026
Front Porch Rachel™ weekend guide to events and things to do in Bartow County and Cartersville, Georgia, September 25–27, 2026.

If you’re looking for things to do in Bartow County this weekend, you’ve got options.

From fall family fun and farmers market shopping to quilts, cars, books, and a little Friday-night comedy, Cartersville and Bartow County have plenty going on September 25–27.

Here’s what’s happening around Bartow County this weekend.

Friday: Start the Weekend in Cartersville

Love of Quilts Show

The Love of Quilts Show runs Thursday through Saturday at the Cartersville Civic Center, so Friday is a great opportunity to stop in and see the show before the weekend gets rolling.

📍 Cartersville Civic Center
435 W. Main Street, Cartersville

Pumphouse Unscripted Improv Comedy

If your idea of Friday night involves laughing instead of being productive, I support this decision.

Pumphouse Players’ improv troupe takes the stage at the Historic Legion Theatre Friday at 8 PM for an unpredictable night of improv games and comedy. Seating begins at 7:30 PM, and the organizer notes that the show is intended for audiences comfortable with mature content.

📍 Historic Legion Theatre, Cartersville
🕗 Friday at 8 PM

Saturday Morning: Cartersville Farmers Market

Saturday morning is a good excuse to head downtown.

The Cartersville Farmers Market is scheduled from 8 AM to noon at 10 N. Public Square.

Grab something local, wander around downtown, and maybe convince yourself you went for vegetables even if you come home with something completely different.

That’s part of the experience. 😂

📍 10 N. Public Square, Cartersville
🕗 Saturday, 8 AM–12 PM

Saturday: Fall Fling at Tellus Science Museum

This may be the big family pick of the weekend.

Tellus Science Museum’s Fall Fling is Saturday, September 26. Outdoor and indoor activities run from 10 AM–3 PM, with the museum open until 5 PM and the observatory open from noon–4 PM.

The lineup includes pumpkin-launching competitions using student-built catapults and trebuchets, rocks and minerals, geode cracking, demonstrations, inflatables, fall activities and more. Members get free admission; non-members pay regular museum admission.

📍 Tellus Science Museum
100 Tellus Drive, Cartersville
🗓 Saturday, September 26

And honestly, launching pumpkins with a trebuchet feels like a pretty strong way to welcome fall in Georgia.

All Weekend: Hoods Up! at Savoy Automobile Museum

Car people, this one’s yours.

Savoy Automobile Museum is holding Hoods Up! Weekend – From Stock Cars to Racecars Friday through Sunday.

Visitors will get a closer look under the hoods of select vehicles from the museum’s From Stock Cars to Racecars temporary exhibit. The event runs 10 AM–5 PM each day.

There’s also a special exhibit tour Saturday from 1–3 PM focused on the museum’s stock-car and NASCAR history.

📍 Savoy Automobile Museum
3 Savoy Lane, Cartersville
🗓 Friday–Sunday, 10 AM–5 PM

Saturday Afternoon: Meet Georgia Author Lauretta Hannon

Book people get something this weekend too.

Georgia author Lauretta Hannon is scheduled for an author event and new-book launch Saturday at the Cartersville Library. The local calendar lists the event for 2 PM.

Her newest memoir, A Priest Walks into a Waffle House: Stories from a Gritty, Grace-Filled Life, was released this year, following her bestselling memoir The Cracker Queen.

📍 Cartersville Public Library
429 W. Main Street, Cartersville
🕑 Saturday at 2 PM

Make a Bartow County Day Out of It

One of my favorite things about living in Bartow County is that you don’t necessarily need some elaborate plan to fill a Saturday.

Start at the Cartersville Farmers Market, grab lunch downtown, head to Tellus or Savoy, browse around town, and suddenly you’ve made an entire day of it.

That’s one of the reasons I love sharing these weekly roundups. Real estate isn’t just about the house you buy. It’s also about what life looks like once you walk out the front door.

And there’s usually more happening around Cartersville and Bartow County, Georgia than people realize.

Front Porch Thought

You don’t have to drive into Atlanta to find something to do this weekend.

Sometimes it’s a Saturday morning at the farmers market, launching pumpkins at Tellus, checking out the cars at Savoy, or simply wandering around downtown Cartersville with nowhere you particularly need to be.

That’s the part of living in Bartow County I love sharing.

A home is more than bedrooms, bathrooms, and a mortgage payment. It’s Saturday mornings, local traditions, familiar places, and the community waiting outside your front door.

And sometimes the best weekends are the ones spent right here at home. ❤️

Event details can change, so be sure to confirm times, admission, and availability directly with the venue before heading out.
